Category: Transportation
Size: 10,000 sq. ft.
Condition: Rusted
Inhabitants: Ark II Crew, Earthborn customers
Description
As the Ark II is primarily a luxury cruise ship, manned by friendly(er) Skyborn compared to most, the Ark II's loading dock is one of the two locations on the Wise Men that Earthborn ever see. On land, the lowered platforms make it easily accessible as guest applications are taken, guests are organized, and guests are boarded in the final hours approaching fleet departure. Reservations must be finalized within 24 hours of the departure process, boarding begins 12 hours prior to the fleet's departure and ends 1 hour before. The lowered space and open-air nature of the loading bay means that there's a constant bustle of activity between employees and other visitors.
When in the air, the loading dock is converted into storage space for raw foodstuffs, oils and other day-to-day necessities. A small contingent of around a dozen gyrocopters is stored here, and their primary use is in lifting and transporting items in storage to and from the Ark II's storage bays from other ships. Empty corners in the room are used as repair workshops by the engineers responsible for the maintenance of the shelving units and gyrocopters stored here.
